Scheveningen Harbor - The Netherlands

The departure of Norfolk Holdings BV from Scheveningen meant for the municipality for the Hague an opportunity to investigate the possibilities to give Scheveningen an impulse and to strengthen the masterplan “World city at the sea”.

Four major Dutch developers collaborating with prominent urbanists and architects were consulted to give their vision on how to deal with Scheveningen Harbor concerning the released area of six hectare. To be able to formulate this question and criticize the answers, studies were made and maps were produced. In June 2007 a communal vision has been established for Scheveningen Harbor. Main goals are to strengthen fishery, tourism and living.
